The Green Bay Packers had been very quiet since Thursday night’s preseason pounding of the Indianapolis Colts. (One more game and it’s finally over.) That changed Sunday. Ahman Green is a Green Bay Packer once again. Green signed a one-year deal with the team. Terms were not disclosed. Green and former Indianapolis Colts running back Dominic Rhodes both worked out for the team Monday. I’ll have a column expanding my thoughts on the Green signing later today, so [...] The Packers have the group they want to go to war with. But it’s not quite the group a lot of us thought it would be. Saturday’s cutdown from 75 to 53 was certainly chock full of surprises, obviously the biggest being the release of quarterback Brian Brohm (I guess I was wrong when I said Friday [...] We all know the roster has to be trimmed to 53 by Saturday. Some cuts will be a lot easier than others and some players are already destined to the practice squad. The one position that remains muddled is running back. Last year the Packers started the season with five backs – Ryan Grant, Brandon [...] (I wish we could utilize sound effects on this site, because I’d totally begin this post with the ultra-creepy “Update” music that used to run on “Unsolved Mysteries” whenever a criminal was caught or mystery was, in fact, solved.
