As I sit down to write this, the clock has just struck 12:37 a.m. In other words, I’ll be keeping this one brief (don’t worry – we’ll have a whole lot more reaction to this one later today). Here are some quick thoughts on the Green Bay Packers’ 28-24 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night [...] (Note: My streak of game recaps is officially over at 29. As Gene, Adam and myself exited FedEx Field on Sunday, following the Green Bay Packers’ gutwrenching 16-13 overtime loss to the Washington Redskins, we found ourselves using variations of the same phrase over and over: This team just [...] And the injuries continue to mount for the Green Bay Packers. Monday, we learned that rookie safety Morgan Burnett’s season is over just four games in because of a torn ACL, suffered in the team’s win over Detroit on Sunday. Before we get to the options available for Green Bay at the position, let’s talk about what [...] I know, I know – some of you probably don’t think we should be tossing out any donuts after that one. But, hey, a win’s a win, right? Oops – let me just turn off this cilche alarm real quick. And, with the Green Bay Packers improving to 3-1 on the season as a result of their [...] Four games is four games. It’s a sample, a taste. And whether a team’s start is atrocious, fantastic, or somewhere in between, four games is not enough to determine how things will go the rest of the way. But it is enough to paint a picture of what kind of team you have. The Green Bay Packers - a team [...] Up until Monday night, it’d been quite a magic act pulled off by the Green Bay Packers. The Packers, using something similar to sleight of hand, actually had us believing they had changed many of their famously - or is that infamously? - self-defeating ways from previous years. Also apparently gone were the poor special teams performances this [...] Most of the major news surrounding the Green Bay Packers on the day after their season-opening win over Philadelphia involved injuries. And, as is the case most of the time with things like these, the news wasn’t particularly good. Head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Monday that running back Ryan Grant (ankle) is out for Sunday’s home opener with [...] If you were expecting Sunday’s game with the Philadelphia Eagles to be a thing of true beauty – a Rolls Royce, Cristal, Megan Fox type of performance – you might have ended up a bit disappointed. However, if you were looking for a gritty, gutty showing – think Jeep, Crown Royal or maybe Elizabeth Banks (ladies, [...] I’m going to play a dangerous game in this space. That doesn’t mean I’m going to write 900 words on the Green Bay Packers’ 17-13 road loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Thursday night’s preseason finale.
