Chris mentioned this morning he was hoping the Packers would take a serious look safety Ryan Clark before re-upped with the Steelers. However, all may not be lost at the position as Nick Collins signed his restricted free agent tender today, according Journal-Sentinel’s Tom Silverstein. The deal is one-year for $3.3 million and takes Collins off [...] As Chris posted yesterday, Aaron Kampman was visiting with the brass of Jacksonville and was rumored to be have other teams interested in his services. Cancel those travel plans. The Jaguars announced this morning that they have signed the former Packer defensive end/linebacker, contract length and terms undisclosed as of yet. There is no doubt Kampman got [...] A quick story: Before we were up-and-running as a site, we originally thought about going with “Dan Devine’s Dog” as the name for our blog. It would have been funny (albeit darkly so) and something most Packers fans would instantly recognize. Those who didn’t could perhaps Google it and become enlightened on an, um, interesting chapter in [...] In the next few days Chris, Gene and I will give our picks and prognostications on Super Bowl XLIV, but I wanted to touch on a subject that has been stuck in my crawl for quite sometime and it involves my favorite non-Packer in the NFL: Peyton Manning. Maybe I talk to the wrong people [...] Originally, I thought about writing a recap of Sunday night’s NFC Championship Game. By now, though, we all know what went down in New Orleans, so there’s no real reason to recap the game itself (don’t worry – we’ll be back with plenty more Judas bashing in the days ahead). It was great. It was epic. It was the [...] We all know the media love affair with Favre and almost every angle about him has been covered this season. Except one. What if Brett Favre stayed with the Jets? Favre claims the only reason he came back was to have another shot at a championship, not to stick to Thompson and McCarthy. He is in good position to follow through on that claim, but now it looks like he would have had the same shot if he stayed with the Jets. [...] It has taken me a few days to actually talk about the Packers, let alone write about them. But I am an adult and sports are well, just sports. There are far more important things to worry about in life. Will I be disappointed not to see the Packers get their shot at the Saints? [...] Six weeks ago the Buffalo Bills signed Brian Brohm of the Green Bay’s practice squad putting closure on a botched second-round pick by Ted Thompson. I bet you all, and myself included, thought this would be the last that we ever hear of Brohm, who was set to be a third-string quarterback behind the likes [...] This is the season of giving, not taking. So instead of writing a traditional gift list for the Packers, how about flipping it around and pick out gifts for certain Packers.
