Wednesday wrap-up: Green signs (and other notes)

What was rumored Tuesday became official Wednesday.

Ahman Green is a Green Bay Packer once again.

Green signed a one-year deal with the team. Terms were not disclosed. Green and former Indianapolis Colts running back Dominic Rhodes both worked out for the team Monday.

I’ll have a column expanding my thoughts on the Green signing later today, so [...]

No S-Jax? What a shame

Well, the trade deadline has come and gone and it took any hopes of the Green Bay Packers getting Steven Jackson with it.

I didn’t really hold out much hope that Green Bay would pull this deal off. In fact, it was more wishful thinking that anything else. Jackson’s too good and, at 26, probably too [...]

One trade Teddy needs to make

(Note: This post takes the place of my usual lighthearted Tuesday post. That will return next week. I know – I didn’t run it last week, either. But come on. I was sick.)

Talking Packers on the phone with Adam last night and the inevitable topic of the trade deadline came up.

Makes sense as the deadline [...]

Regular season game five vs. Detroit: Accentuating the positive

(Okay, so I’m back from another weekend in Wisconsin. Let’s rock.)

I know what you think I’m going to say.

You think I’m going to rip the Green Bay Packers even though they earned a fairly easy 26-0 win over an utterly punchless Detroit Lions squad on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

You think I’m going to rip them [...]

Check back later tonight

Hey gang.

I’m going to post my thoughts from Sunday’s ass-kicking later tonight. I was in Green Bay for the game (did you see me? I was the big guy wearing the A.J. Hawk jersey) and was too busy with family stuff to get anything done.

I now have to drive back to Minneapolis. Once I get [...]

Gettin' you ready for week six

So I know we usually run this thing on Thursdays. And, yes, I know it’s now Friday night.

But I have a legitimate reason for this running late: I haven’t been feeling well.

It’s nothing serious (and certainly not H1N1 or anything), but I’ve just been a tad under the weather. Basically, I just haven’t been up [...]

Los Angeles Vi-Queens

Adrian Peterson strolling down Sunset Strip.  Jared Allen rubbing elbows in Hollywood.  Brett Favre laying out at Hollenbeck Palms.

It could all be a reality.  Albeit faint, but still fun to think about.

A developer who is close to getting the go-ahead to build a new 75,000 seat stadium in Los Angeles has his sights on seven [...]

Trade Kampman?

It’s been weeks since I last wrote a meaningful post and want to thank Chris and Gene for picking up the major slack I laid.  Mainly my absence was due to grad school, training to run a race and girls; and not necessarily in that order.

So it’s fitting that I want to get back in [...]

Blackmon's time in Green Bay likely nearing an end

To make room for Mark Tauscher on the roster, the Green Bay Packers placed cornerback/return specialist Will Blackmon on injured reserve Monday.

Blackmon suffered a severe knee injury against the Vikings last Monday night, an injury that could spell the end for his time in Green Bay.

A fourth-round pick in the 2006 draft out of Boston [...]

Tauscher back in the fold

When the schedule first came out and the Packers had a week 5 bye week, the first thought was that it was way too early.  A later bye towards the middle of the season is always preferred as a chance to get rested and work out any kinks in the armour for a final push [...]
