Brettsagevaris Jackfavrefels?

Hate to be the portender of doom, but guess who’s a free agent, all of a sudden? That’s right, it’s everybody’s favorite course-changing quarterback.

Yes, Brett Favre says he has no intention of returning to football. But read that statement closely. What are the first words? They’re “at this time.”

“At this time” last year, Favre still [...]

Green Bay's final three picks of the 2009 NFL Draft are…

Monday evening

Before we begin, we at OBOD must apologize to you, the readers.

We told you we’d have a review of Green Bay’s final three picks up shortly after the draft’s conclusion last night.

But we were just flat-out exhausted and, frankly, we didn’t have the collective energy to give you anything more than nonsensical ramblings that [...]

Well, this is new!

Usually, in the kneejerk day-after draft grades, the Packers wind up somewhere around a C+ or B-, kind of like those girls in school who seem nice, are kinda cute, but don’t really do much for you. Well, that’s all changed now! We’re the hottest thing in the room!

Mel Kiper’s  draft grades (to be taken [...]

Packers make three more selections

3:15 p.m.

First off, we want to thank everyone for staying with us for our first round coverage. We hoped you enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you.

Now then, it’s time to talk about day two. The picks made on this day, while you might not know their names at the [...]

Reaction to picks 21-32

We could give you some sort of cute intro. But, really, what’s the point?

We know what you want. You want reaction to picks 21-32.

Well, here you go.

21. Cleveland Browns (from Philadelphia) – Alex Mack, C, California

Mack is clearly the best center in this year’s draft and should team with LT Joe Thomas to help solidify [...]

Reaction to picks 11-20

We here at OBOD are men of our collective word. We promised you reaction to the rest of the first round and here it is.

Well, at least picks 11-20 anyways. But don’t worry, we’ll be back to finish our round one thoughts as soon as we can.

11. Buffalo Bills – Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn State

Buffalo [...]

Packers trade up to grab Matthews

5:55 p.m.

So there we were, dillingently working on our recap of picks 11-20, when Teddy did the unthinkable.

He traded up.

Thompson traded with New England (via Baltimore), moving up to the 26th spot of the first round to snag USC outside linebacker Clay Matthews.

The Packers traded their second round pick and both of their third rounders in [...]

Lions Reax from a TRUE Lions fan. I'm not lying either.

5:16 PM

Like I mentioned earlier, we are one of the few lucky blogs out there that actually know a Lions fan.  Yes, a real-life Lions fan, they do exist.  So we wanted to take advantage of this situation to get a fan’s reaction to the #1 pick.

Well, let’s just say it’s not a good day [...]

Crabtree finally taken by San Fran

4:25 p.m.

ESPN’s Michael Smith said there was no way Michael Crabtree was falling past the San Francisco 49ers and, it turns out, he was right.

The Niners tabbed the Texas Tech wideout with the 10th pick of the first round.

This is a very good addition indeed for coach Mike Singletary’s bunch. San Francisco’s offense lacks playmakers in a [...]

4:20 p.m.

Sometimes, fans, you get what you ask for.

We wanted Boston College defensive tackle B.J. Raji to be the ninth overall pick and Teddy gave us just that.

The Packers, with the switch to the 3-4 defense, absolutely needed an anchor in the middle of the line. Raji is 6-feet, 1-inches and 337 pounds. Think he’ll suffice?

Apparently, [...]
